John 3:5 “Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.” (NIV)

Here at Lake Erie Church, we believe that all who repent of their sins and have surrendered their lives to Jesus should be baptized in water.  The reason why is because we believe that baptism is an outward, public expression of the inward change that has taken place.  We believe that when a person is fully immersed in the water they are symbolically putting to death their old sinful self, and when they emerge, they are raised to a new life in Christ.

We baptize in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in order to follow the formula that was given to us by Jesus in Matthew 28: 18-20.  This also serves as a reminder to participants that these three will be present with you as you live out this new life you are committing to.

Being baptized in water is not a necessary step one has to take in order to attend Lake Erie Church.  However, we believe that this is a public expression that you have been changed and are committing to God’s call in seeing this world changed.

If you are interested in being baptized, or have any further questions, please fill out the form below.  We will be sure to put you on the list for the next baptismal service.

Thank-you and God Bless!
